Standard flat fees — published, not hidden
These are our standard flat legal fees for a typical case in each category. Government filing fees are separate and are listed further down this page.
Family petitions & fiancé(e) visas

Removal of conditions (I-751)
The waiver fee is the same on any ground — divorce, abuse, or extreme hardship.
Self-petitions (I-360)
Self-petitions carry no USCIS filing fee — the figure above is our legal fee only.
Interviews — and Stokes
If we filed your case, interview preparation and attendance are part of your flat fee — never billed on top. If you filed elsewhere and need an attorney for the interview itself, that is the $5,000 line. The fees shown are our standard flat legal fees for a typical case in each category, current as of July 2026. Some matters are more complex — for example, prior denials or fraud allegations, arrests or criminal history, removal proceedings, or waiver filings — and may carry additional charges reflecting the additional attorney work involved. Fees shown do not include attorney travel outside the New York City metropolitan area or South Florida. Government filing fees are separate, set by USCIS and the U.S. Department of State, and paid directly to the government. Every fee, standard or otherwise, is quoted to you individually, in writing, before you retain us.

At your free consultation we quote a single flat legal fee for your case — in writing, before you commit to anything. That number covers the work described in the engagement letter, start to finish.
No hourly billing, ever
You will never receive a bill for a phone call, an email, or a question. Ask as many as you need — that's the point of having a lawyer.
Payment plans available
Immigration cases are family investments. We work out payment schedules at the consultation so the fee never stands between your family and the filing.

USCIS & State Department fees — July 2026
Paper filings must now be paid electronically (card or bank withdrawal) — USCIS stopped accepting checks and money orders in October 2025.
To be clear: every dollar in this table is a government filing fee, paid directly to USCIS or the U.S. Department of State. None of it is Usher Law Group’s legal fee. Our flat legal fee is separate, quoted in writing at your consultation — and it never changes mid-case.

I-130 + DS-260 + I-864 review + Immigrant Fee ≈ $1,355 per immigrant in government fees (plus the medical exam abroad) — our legal fee is separate and quoted in writing.

Why don't you charge hourly?
Because hourly billing punishes you for asking questions, and immigration cases run on questions. A flat fee aligns our interests: we're paid for the outcome-focused work, not for the meter running.
Are government fees included in the flat legal fee?
No — government filing fees go directly to USCIS or the State Department and are listed separately in your engagement letter, so you always see both numbers. The table above shows every fee your case type involves.
What if my case gets an RFE — is that extra?
Your engagement letter spells out exactly what the flat fee covers for your case type. We'll walk through it line by line at the consultation before you sign anything.
